Hong Kong Disneyland Resort marked its 10th anniversary this year by hosting the Disney Travel Trade Summit on September 9-10, bringing together nearly 300 travel trade partners and members of the press. Unveiled during the event was the resort’s upcoming 10th anniversary celebration program lineup, including the all-new theatrical performance Mickey and the Wondrous Book, which would offer brand new and unique Disney experiences to guests for years to come.

Along with the summit, the resort held award presentation ceremonies of the Celebration of Sales Excellence 2014 and the 10 Magical Years of Partnership Award.

“The resort is introducing a series of celebratory activities to mark its 10th anniversary, including the all-new ‘Mickey and the Wondrous Book’ that will be launched on November 17,” said Terruce Wang, vice president, sales and distribution marketing, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. “The new theatrical spectacular will take the magical Disney experience to a whole new level for guests. We look forward to working closely with the industry to ride on the 10th anniversary and develop various travel products to create business opportunities and to deliver wonderful Disney experience to guests from all over the world,”

Mickey and the Wondrous Book centers on Mickey Mouse’s magic book adventure inside an enchanted book packed with beloved Disney tales like Frozen. The new and unique concert-style stage show features 22 original costume designs and many Disney characters that are making their debut stage appearance. The resort’s original 10th anniversary theme song, Happily Ever After, will be performed during the show, creating an interactive, magical and moving experience for guests.

In addition to the new stage show, guests will be dazzled by an enhanced Disney in the Stars Fireworks show, made even more vibrant by cutting-edge technology, lighting effects, and state-of-the-art video projection shown on Sleeping Beauty Castle. The enhanced fireworks show will officially launch in November.

The 10th anniversary celebratory journey also features new attractions such as the Fairy Tale Forest in Fantasyland in December, where many Disney fairy tales are set, including miniature scenes from Tangled, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and The Little Mermaid, and guests can interact with Tinker Bell up close. This will be accompanied by various new “Happily Ever After” storybook photo spot around the park, where guests will have greeting experience with many Disney characters at Hong Kong Disneyland for the first time.

The resort will continue to enrich its attractions and entertainment offerings, including the launch of the Iron Man Experience in late 2016 and the opening of the Disney Explorers Lodge in early 2017.
