TPB creates Dive Fiesta to promote scuba diving to the Philippines

In an effort to promote the Philippines as a premiere scuba diving destination, the Tourism Board of the Philippines (TPB) conceptualized Dive Fiesta Philippines (DF17), a hard-line venture to directly attract international buyers of dive travel packages into business engagements with Philippine dive resorts and outfitters.

DF 17’s principal component is the business exchange wherein table-top discussions between the international operators and their local counterparts are arranged in set appointments. This was the main activity today as both buyers and sellers closed their dealings at the City of Dreams in Paranaque. The last three days of DF 17 is devoted to the familiarization program of hosted foreign buyers affording them a first-hand experience of the country’s inherent marine diversity, the quality of its dive facilities, and the hospitality of Filipinos.

DF17 is targeted to dive travel operators around the globe to improve the Philippines measly 1.7 % visitor arrivals for diving despite its edge in natural assets and accolades received.
