Clark Development Corporation (CDC) and the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) have joined forces to launch the countdown for the highly anticipated Philippine Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions Conference (MICECON) in July 10, 2024.
This significant event, in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT), marks the start of a 366-day countdown to MICE Con 2024.
During the kick-off ceremonies, CDC President and CEO Agnes Devanadera, TPB COO Maria Margarita Nograles, and DOT Undersecretary Ferdinand Jumapao led the proceedings. Devanadera expressed confidence in the collaboration between the Philippine Government, under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., and the private sector, highlighting their commitment to success through a unified approach.
Nograles praised Clark as the ideal host destination for MICECON 2024, emphasizing its remarkable growth over the past decade. With its international airport, well-planned city, modern infrastructure facilities, world-class accommodations, and meeting venues, Clark is poised to position the Philippines as a top MICE destination in Asia. Nograles further expressed optimism that MICECON will attract new investments and business opportunities, benefiting the entire Region 3.
Meanwhile, Usec. Jumapao read the message of Tourism Secretary Cristina Frasco that highlighted the significant growth of the MICE sector in the Philippines recognizing Clark’s emergence as a booming MICE. and lifestyle venue, accommodating sporting events and small to medium-sized meetings. MICECON 2024 is expected to solidify Clark’s position as a major host for significant events.
The launch event featured the unveiling of the official build-up letters for MICECON 2024, showcasing Clark’s dedication to hosting the conference. CDC highlighted the readiness of Clark to provide an exceptional experience, with state-of-the-art facilities, infrastructure, and outstanding hospitality. In addition, the launch marked the official release of the iClark mobile application. Developed by CDC’s Information Technology Department, the app offers attendees and visitors a seamless digital experience, providing access to event information, directions, hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, bike paths, and more. The iClark app enables participants to maximize their engagement and make the most of their stay within Clark during the event.
Coinciding with the launch of the MICECON countdown was a ceremonial signing between CDC, TPB and SMX Convention Center Clark as the Official Venue for MICECON 2024.
