The 17th International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City 2023 (ITE HCMC 2023) is set to take place at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City, from September 7 to 9, 2023. The expo, themed “Connectivity, Growth, Sustainability,” aims to contribute innovative solutions for Vietnam’s tourism development and global representation.
Vietnam’s tourism sector has seen a surge in international visitors, with over 1.04 million arrivals in July 2023, a 6.5% increase from the previous month. This marked the first month of the year to welcome over a million visitors, reflecting positive progress toward the country’s annual target. These numbers are attributed to favorable policies like Resolution 82 and expanded e-visa periods, along with proactive efforts from tourism promotion agencies and businesses.
ITE HCMC 2023 is poised to become a pivotal platform for enhancing international tourist markets. The event will focus on engaging target markets and presenting sustainable solutions to promote Vietnam’s tourism effectively. The theme, “Connectivity, Growth, and Sustainability,” aligns with government resolutions and will attract tens of thousands of visitors, international buyers, and exhibitors seeking innovation opportunities.
The expo expects to host more than 400 exhibitors and brands, including international tourism promotion agencies, local associations, tour operators, airlines, and accommodations. Around 70% of participants will be domestic, while 30% will represent international entities.
The event will also feature the International Buyers Program, offering opportunities for global tourism companies to expand into Vietnam and the Mekong Delta region. Over 150 international buyers from various countries have been selected to participate, promoting over 6,000 B2B trade appointments between buyers and exhibitors.
With support from over 50 domestic media partners and 20 international press units, ITE HCMC 2023 aims to drive attention to the event. The changes in Vietnam’s visa policies have paved the way for increased international tourism, but sustained efforts are needed to further attract global markets. Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, emphasized the expo’s role in enhancing destination management and creating appealing, competitive tourism products.
The expo is organized under the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. It is executed by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center, and in collaboration with CIS Vietnam JSC and Le Bros Company.
ITE HCMC 2023 has garnered the support of sponsors such as Vietnam Airlines, Saigontourist Group, and various partners, airlines, and media groups. The event will feature exhibitions, forums, seminars, awards, and cultural nights, facilitating trade and discussions in the tourism industry.
