Hong Kong invites art enthusiasts to ‘Super March’ celebration

Hong Kong is gearing up for an exciting month of art and culture with the upcoming ‘Super March‘ celebration. From world-class art fairs to outdoor festivals, gallery presentations, and auction house spring sales, the city promises a dynamic and vibrant experience for tourists and locals alike.

One of the highlights of this year’s events is the Art Basel Hong Kong, the sole show in Asia for Art Basel. Taking place from 28 – 30 March 2025 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, the event will feature 240 galleries from 42 countries and territories, showcasing a diverse range of global art practices.

A special tribute will be paid to the late Filipino artist Pacita Abad, known for her larger-than-life installations that convey socio-political themes. Her works will be featured in the Encounters sector of Art Basel Hong Kong, alongside other international artists.

Filipino artists Soler and Luis Antonio Santos will also be showcasing their work at the Manila-based gallery, The Drawing Room. With a mix of abstraction and photorealism, the father-son duo promises a unique and complementary artistic experience for visitors.

In addition to Art Basel Hong Kong, other major events such as Art Central, HKwalls Street Art Festival, and ComplexCon will be celebrating their tenth editions this year. These events will bring together established galleries, renowned artists, and emerging talents to showcase the best of contemporary art.

The Hong Kong Arts Festival will also be presenting its 53rd edition this March, featuring over 125 performances across various art forms, including opera, music, dance, theatre, and Chinese opera.

For art enthusiasts looking to explore Hong Kong’s cultural institutions, M+ and the Hong Kong Palace Museum will be hosting a range of exhibitions, including showcases of works by Pablo Picasso, Paul Cézanne, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Additionally, top auction houses such as Christie’s, Sotheby’s, Phillips, and Bonhams will be unveiling new exhibitions and spring sales during art month.

With the opening of the Kai Tak Sports Park adding to the excitement, ‘Super March’ promises to be a vibrant celebration of art, culture, and entertainment in Hong Kong.
