Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, launched its inaugural direct flight between Singapore and Vienna on June 3, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the carrier’s European expansion.
Known as the City of Music, Vienna has been home to legendary composers such as Beethoven, Brahms, Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, and the iconic Johann Strauss, making it a dream destination for lovers of classical music and European culture. The Austrian capital continues to enchant travelers with its majestic architecture, rich heritage, and timeless artistic charm.
Vienna’s strategic central location makes it an ideal gateway to explore Eastern and Central Europe, offering travelers easy access to scenic, multi-city adventures. The Slovakian capital, Bratislava, is just 50 kilometers from Vienna International Airport, while major cities like Budapest (Hungary), Prague (Czechia), Zagreb (Croatia), and Ljubljana (Slovenia) are all within a three-hour drive.
Scoot is currently the only airline offering direct flights between Singapore and Vienna. The route will be operated three times weekly using the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which accommodates 329 passengers across two cabin classes.
Ng Chee Keong, Chief Operating Officer of Scoot, shared his excitement about the new route “We are excited to launch our inaugural flight to Vienna and be part of this momentous occasion with our partners who have made this possible. Vienna offers an exciting gateway for travelers from the Asia-Pacific to explore Europe’s rich history and heritage. For European residents, this new route also provides more options to experience the vibrant sights of Singapore and other cities in Southeast Asia. We hope this new connection helps bridge cultures and inspires more travelers to explore new destinations and create memorable experiences.”
With the addition of Vienna, Scoot now flies to 73 destinations across 18 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Europe.
