Etihad Airways and airberlin’s partnership is much more than code share. In fact, Etihad Airways owns 30 percent of airberlin.
The partnership brings together a whole new variety of opportunities for travelers, allowing airberlin access to Asia, Australia, and the Indian subcontinent markets. The combined route network would cover more than 220 destinations in over 80 countries with a 100-percent synchronized frequent flier program.
A second daily flight between Abu Dhabi and Berlin and new flights between Abu Dhabi and Stuttgart and Vienna are the new services of airberlin for the fourth quarter of 2014. The second Abu Dhabi-Berlin daily service was launched last week, while airberlin will launch Abu Dhabi-Vienna on November 24 and Abu Dhabi-Stuttgart on December 1.
